Bangkok (VNA) – The Pheu Thai Partyofficially submitted its list of three prime ministerial candidates to theElection Commission (EC) of Thailand on April 5.  

The candidates arePaetongtarn Shinawatra, the party’s advisory chief and head of the Pheu Thai“family”, Srettha Thavisin, former real estate tycoon and advisor toPaetongtarn, and Chaikasem Nitisiri, the party’s chief of strategy andpolitical direction.

The list wassubmitted to the EC by Prasert Chanthararuangthong, the party’ssecretary-general.

Thai political parties will submit their nominationsfor prime ministerial candidates until April 7. Each party is allowed tonominate three candidates.

The Thai mediasaid among 54parties that submitted the names of their party-list candidates to the EC onApril 4, only 24 submitted their lists of prime ministerial candidates.

🌄 Amongthe well-known prime ministerial candidates are Prayut Chan-o-cha and PirapanSalirathavibhaga of the United Thai Nation Party (UTN); Anutin Charnvirakul ofBhumjaithai; Worawut Silpa-archa of Chart Thai Pattana; Jurin Laksanawisit ofthe Democrat Party; Pita Limjaroenrat of the Move Forward Party; Gen Prawit Wongsuwan of Palang Pracharath; Pol Gen Sereepisuth Temeeyaves of the Thai Liberal Party; and the Thai Sang Thai Party’s three candidates, Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, Suphan Mongkolsuthreeand Sita Tiwari./.
