Hanoi (VNA)🍷 – As temperatures rose with the onset of summer, the Philippines' Department of Energy (DOE) on March 3 reminded the public to adopt energy efficiency measures to manage electricity consumption and ensure the stability of the country's power supply.

The summer months of March, April, and May are characterised by higher energy demand, primarily driven by the increased use of cooling appliances such as air conditioners, electric fans, and refrigerators.
To help maintain a stable and reliable energy supply, the DOE encouraged all consumers, including households, businesses, and government institutions to refrain from or reschedule high-energy-consuming activities during peak hours when electricity demand is at its highest. For households, it encouraged the adoption of energy-saving measures such as setting air conditioners to 24 to 26 degrees Celsius, using electric fans to improve air circulation, maximizing natural ventilation when possible, and keeping appliances well-maintained for optimal efficiency. The DOE also urged commercial and industrial establishments to ensure optimal performance and adopt energy-efficient technologies such as LED lighting and automated energy management systems./.
