Photographer wins third prize at UK contest

Photographer Viet Van from Lao Dong (Labour) newspaper has become the only representative of Vietnam to win a prize in the Street Food category of the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2019 in the UK.

Hanoi (VNA) –
Photographer Viet Van fromLao Dong (Labour) newspaper has become the only representative of Vietnam towin a prize in the Street Food category of the Pink Lady Food Photographer ofthe Year 2019 in the UK.

His photo captures a butcher woman havingbreakfast at Ben Thanh market in Ho Chi Minh City and won the third prize atthe contest. It used to grab the first prize at the US Master Cup 2017 in thesame category.

The Pink Lady Food Photographer contestattracted 9,000 photos from 77 countries. 

The organising board included 45 experts fromthe UK Association of Photographers, the International Center of Photography inNew York, and prestigious newspapers and magazines such as Daily Telegraph,Guardian News & Media, and New York Times.

As many as 170 photos and short movies from 30countries were selected to put on display at an exhibition in London from May1-5.

The expo will come to other big cities in the UKand the Europe. -VNA
