PM urges better settlement of petitions, complaints
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked ministers, heads of ministry-level and Government agencies, and Chairpersons of People’s Committees of centrally-run cities and provinces to improve the efficiency of citizen reception and settlement of petitions and complaints.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen XuanPhuc has asked ministers, heads of ministry-level and Government agencies, andChairpersons of People’s Committees of centrally-run cities and provinces toimprove the efficiency of citizen reception and settlement of petitions andcomplaints.
He said efforts should be made to synchronously and effectively implement thePolitburo’s Directive No. 35-CT/TW dated May 26, 2014, the Law on Reception ofCitizens, the Law on Complaints, the Law on Denunciation and relevantinstructions of the PM.
Chairman of the People’s Committees must seriously perform their tasks ofcitizen reception, increase dialogues with citizens, popularise policies andlaws, promptly settle petitions and complaints and deal with shortcomings inState management, especially those directly relating to citizens’ interests.
Besides, they need to deploy the PM’s instructions and the Government Inspectorate’sPlan No. 363/KH-TTCP dated March 3, 2019 on reviewing and handling lingeringand complex cases of public concern, he said, noting that any bottlenecksduring the process should be swiftly reported to competent agencies.
The leader tasked the Government Inspectorate with supervising ministries,agencies and localities in the implementation of the mass mobilisation work incitizen reception and settlement of petitions and complaints.-VNA
The number of petitions and denunciations in 2018 increased by 11.8 percent compared to last year and the number of cases rose by 4.7 percent, said the Government’s report on the settlement of complaints and petitions delivered by Inspector General Le Minh Khai to the National Assembly in the morning of November 14.
