Politburo reprimands An Giang provincial Party Committee's Standing Board

Hanoi (VNA) – The Party Central Committee’s Political Bureau on August 9 convened a meeting to consider and decide disciplinary measures against the Standing Board of the An Giang provincial Party Committee for its violations.

After looking into the recommendations of the Party Central Committee's Inspection Commission, the Political Bureau found that the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee in the 2015 - 2020 tenure did not issue the working regulations of the Party Civil Affairs Committee of the provincial People’s Committee, violated the working regulations, and let the provincial People’s Committee propose the provincial People’s Council issue a resolution on land use with contents violating the Land Law.

The Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee for the 2025 - 2020 and 2020 - 2025 terms showed loosen leadership and direction, and lacked inspection and supervision. As a result, the Party Civil Affairs Committee of the provincial People's Committee did not hold meetings and discussions, did not ask permanent members and the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee for opinions on leading and directing the management and exploitation of 15 sand mining projects, and land management and use for 197 non-state investment projects, violating the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations.

The Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee let the Party Delegation of the provincial People’s Council, the Party Civil Affairs Committee of the provincial Party Committee and the People’s Committee, and several organisations and individuals commit violations in sand mining management and exploitation and in land management and use, posing risks of huge losses to the State budget. It also let many party organisations and party members under the management of the provincial Party Committee's Standing Board to be disciplined for involving in the projects/bidding packages of the Advanced International Joint Stock Company. There was a criminal case related to the violations of sand mining management and exploitation, with many officials and party members, including key leaders of the province, disciplined and criminally prosecuted.

𒈔 Based on the content, nature, level, consequences and reasons of the violations of the saidabove party organisation, the Political Bureau decided to reprimand the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee in the 2015 - 2020 and 2020 - 2025 terms./.
