Can Tho (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham MinhChinh attended a ceremony to start the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels in the 2021-2026 tenure andcast his vote at the ܫvoting unit No 18 in the southern city of Can Tho on May23 m🌱orning.
Talking to the press after voting, the Governmentleader said he rejoiced to see voters eagerly taking part in the election toexercise their citizen right and duty. The elections are really a festival ofthe people, contributing to building the socialist democracy and a law-governedState by the people, for the people and of the people, he said.
He affirmed that the elections have been held in ademocratic, open, transparent and fair manner in accordance with the law.
Before and during casting their votes, delegatesand voters seriously followed pandemic prevention measures including makinghealth declaration, sanitizing hands, wearing face masks and keeping distancefrom others.
Voters in Can Tho city are to elect seven deputiesto the 15th NA among 10 candidates, who also include PM Chinh./.
Elections campaigns by 866 candidates for the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and nearly 449,000 others for the election of People’s Councils at all levels in 2021-2026 tenure have been completed in accordance with the law and in a safely manner despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.
