Quang Ngai (VNA)💜 - Quang Ngai has introduced a new resolution offering support to Lao students studying in the central province under a cooperation programme between Quang Ngai and Lao provinces.

The policy targets Lao students enrolled in long-term educational programmes lasting 12 months or more, including college, university, and Vietnamese language courses designed for entrance into these institutions. It also applies to short-term programmes of less than 12 months, such as training and skill development courses. Educational institutions, vocational training centres, and other related organisations are also covered by the resolution.
Under the new policy, Lao students in Quang Ngai will receive financial support, including initial setup expenses, living allowances, and travel costs. For short-term students, the package includes 7.15 million VND (279 USD) per month for tuition, 4.65 million VND for initial setup, 6.75 million VND for living expenses, and 1.5 million VND for travel costs. Long-term students will receive 3.35 million VND per month for tuition, 5.8 million VND for initial setup, 4.75 million VND for living expenses, and 1.5 million VND for travel. The ongoing partnership between Quang Ngai and Lao provinces in education and human resource development has yielded positive outcomes, with improved quality and increasing student numbers. This collaboration has played a vital role in helping Lao provinces build a skilled workforce to meet modern development needs. In 2025, 56 Lao students are expected to pursue studies at colleges and universities in Quang Ngai. Dr. Tran Dinh Tham, Rector of Pham Van Dong University, noted that since 2008, the university has been tasked with training human resources for the southern provinces in Laos, such as Champasak, Attapeu, and Sekong. To date, 503 Lao students have completed Vietnamese language and specialised university programmes at the institution. Many of them have returned home to secure stable employment, actively contributing to their local communities./.
