Vientiane (VNA) ✃– The Guiyang-Laos tourist train will be launched on 8 May, signifying a pivotal step in boosting tourism and culturalties between China and Southeast Asia.

This rail service that will debut with a ride from Guiyang city in China’s Guizhou province to Laos capital of Vientiane promises to be acatalyst for tourism development across the region. Equipped with modern amenities, including shower facilities,charging stations, and entertainment options such as karaoke and coffee shops,the train aims to provide passengers with a luxurious travel experience. Visitors in Guizhou can book the eight-day excursion throughregional travel agencies or digital platforms. The itinerary boasts stops atprominent Lao destinations like Vientiane, Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang, andthe majestic Kwang Si Waterfall. To accommodate tourists from Southeast Asia, new itineraryoptions tailored to explore Guizhou will also be introduced. Guizhou is the third province of China after Yunnan provinceand the capital Beijing has offered trains connecting to the Laos-China railwaysystem. Accordingto recent data from the Laos-China Railway Company, since the start of cross-bordertrains in April 2023, about 150,000 tourists from 87 countries and territoriesand more than 8 million tonnes of goods have been transported across theborder, contributing to promoting tourism and economic development along theLaos-China railway./.
