A collection of ten yellow apricot trees, including one aged over 100 years, by a resident in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap has made a world record for its unique values, a rare one for Vietnam in the field of ornamental trees.

The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap recently released a plan on preserving and bringing into play the art of “Don ca tai tu” music and song and “Ho Dong Thap” (Dong Thap singing), both of which are national intangible cultural heritages, so as to improve awareness and raise a sense of responsibility in the community and the political system regarding the task.

A week of culture and tourism began on July 10 in Cao Lanh city in the southern province of Dong Thap, with the participation of Mekong Delta provinces and cities including Ho Chi Minh City and Hoi An.

The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap will organise the Dong Thap Culture and Tourism Week from July 10-14.
