RoK asks Indonesia, Vietnam to boost financial cooperation

The Republic of Korea's Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) said on March 21 that it has asked Indonesia and Vietnam to step up cooperation in the financial sector, in line with Seoul's policy aimed at deepening ties with Southeast Asia.

Seoul (VNA) – The Republic of Korea'sFinancial Supervisory Service (FSS) said on March 21 that it has askedIndonesia and Vietnam to step up cooperation in the financial sector, in linewith Seoul's policy aimed at deepening ties with Southeast Asia.

Yonhap news agency cited a FSS statement as saying that Yoo Kwang-yeol, first seniordeputy governor of the FSS, is on a five-day visit to Indonesia and Vietnamfrom March 19 during which he discussed issues of mutual concern with hiscounterparts.

In Indonesia, Yoo and Wimboh Santoso, headof the Southeast Asian country's financial regulator, agreed to bolstercooperation in the sectors of fintech and supervision of cryptocurrencies.
 
Meanwhile, in Vietnam, theFSS official asked his Vietnamese counterparts to lend more support to Koreanfinancial firms doing business there.
