RoK bank presents 20 houses to poor workers in Phu Tho
The trade union of the KB Kookmin Bank of the Republic of Korea (RoK) has recently granted 20 houses to poor labourers in Thanh Thuy and Yen Lap districts of the northern province of Phu Tho.

Hanoi (VNA) – ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚThe trade union of theKB Kookmin Bank of the Republic of Korea (RoK) has recently granted 20 housesto poor labourers in Thanh Thuy and Yen Lap districts of the northern provinceof Phu Tho.
With the help of the Vietnam – RoK CulturalExchange Centre and the trade union of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), the RoKbank also presented necessities worth 110,000 USD and sent 100 volunteers,including its staff members, to build houses for local residents. In addition, the Korean bank handed over250 schoolbags and stationeries to students of Xuan Vien primary school in YenLap district. It also presented 150 school uniforms tostudents of Binh Yen secondary school in Tuyen Quang province, which received atwo-storey building from the bank last year. On the occasion, each of the two schoolsreceived 10 laptops from the RoK bank.-VNA
The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) of the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang and the provincial Lottery Company on November 16 presented 167 houses to poor and near-poor families.
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will support the construction of 300 houses in the central provinces of Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen and Quang Nam, which were seriously affected by typhoon Damrey in 2017.
The construction of five storm-resistant houses for poor families in the central city of Quang Nam whose homes were severely damaged by storm Damrey in late 2017 started on March 16.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.
