SEA Games 32: Nine countries register for cycling events

Nine regional countries have registered to compete in mountain and road cycling events at the 32nd SEA Games which will be held in Cambodia from May 5-17.

Phnom Penh (VNA)♌ - Nine regional countries have registered to compete in mountain and road cycling events at the 32nd SEA Games which will be held in Cambodia from May5-17.

Nou Chamroeun, Secretary General of the CambodiaCycling Federation (CCF), said that the online registration for teams willreach the deadline soon. These nine countries are host Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand,Timor-Leste and Vietnam. Cyclists of the Cambodian National Team are gathering at a trainingcamp in Banteay Srei district of Siem Reap province to develop their capacityfor the forthcoming games. Besides the training camp, the federation has also urged athletes to participate in other international cycling events to gain moreexperience. According to Chamroeun, there will be nine cycling eventsat SEA Games 32, including five for mountain bike and four for road bike. The five events for mountain bike include mountainbike cross-country Olympic (men’s), mountain bike cross-country Olympic(women’s), mountain bike cross-country relay (men’s and women’s), mountain bikeeliminations (men’s), and mountain bike eliminations (women’s). The four events for road bike are road criterium(men’s), road criterium (women’s), road individual mass start (men’s) and roadindividual mass start (women’s)./.
