Singapore, US renew MoU on third country training programme

Singapore and the US renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the third country training programme (TCTP) during Singaporean Minister of Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan's working visit to Washington from September 26-29.
Singapore (VNA) - Singapore and the US renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the third countrytraining programme (TCTP) during Singaporean Minister of Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan's working visit to Washington from September 26-29.

Balakrishnan held talks with his UScounterpart Antony Blinken and the two sides agreed to extend the TCTP foranother three years, until 2025.

This fourth cycle of the Singapore-US TCTP celebrates a decade of successfulpartnership between Singapore and the US. Since its establishment, theSingapore-US TCTP has trained more than 1,500 participants from SoutheastAsia in over 57 programmes in areas such as cybersecurity, supply chainresilience, global growth and innovation, climate change and space. 

The Singapore-US TCTP is one of several technicalcooperation partnerships under the Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP),Singapore’s primary platform for sharing development experiences andexpertise with other countries. Established in 1992, the SCP hastrained over 132,000 participants from 180 countries and territories as wellas international and regional organisations. The SCP will mark its 30th anniversary in 2022./.
