Singaporean PM to separately meet US, DPRK leaders

Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will have separate meetings with Democratic People’s Republic of Korean (DPDK) leader Kim Jong un and US President Donald Trump, the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a press statement on June 10.

Singapore (VNA) - Singaporean Prime Minister LeeHsien Loong will have separate meetings with Democratic People’s Republic of Korean(DPDK) leader Kim Jong un and US President Donald Trump, the country’s Ministryof Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a press statement on June 10.
 
MFA said Lee will meet Kim on June 10 and Trump on June 11when they arrive in Singapore for the historic US-DPRK summit tobe held on June 12.

President Trump is scheduled to arrive in Singapore on lateJune 10. He is making his way to Singapore directly from theG7 summit in Canada.

The first-ever US-DPRK summit, which will take place at Capella Hotel onSingapore's Sentosa Island, is expected to kick off at 9am.

To date, all preparations for the meeting have been completed by the hostcountry. Security has been tightened in the city-state in recent days,especially in areas declared by the Singaporean Government as “special eventareas”.-VNA
