Soc Trang reviews contest on Vietnam-Laos special friendship
Some 12,535 entries enlightening Vietnam-Laos special relations have been sent to a contest on studying the history of the bilateral ties held by the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang.

Soc Trang (VNA) – Some 12,535 entries enlightening Vietnam-Laosspecial relations have been sent to a contest on studying the history of thebilateral ties held by the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang.
The contest, launched in July, was organised to mark 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962-2017) and 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation(July 18, 1977-2017).
The entries highlighted significant roles of President Ho Chi Minh, President KaysonePhomvihane, President Souphanouvong and senior leaders of the two Parties andGovernments in the developing the bilateral relations in the past five decades.
They also told stories of solidarity between the two nations in the past strugglefor independence as well as the current development.
The first prize was presented to the youth union of the provincial police whilethe second and third prizes belonged to the Soc Trang city Party Committee’commission for information and education and the trade union of the provincialhealth sector, respectively.
Thirty five outstanding entries were also awarded certificates of merit.-VNA
An award ceremony was held in Hanoi on May 15 to present prizes to ten most standout entries in a songwriting contest praising Vietnam-Laos friendship relations.
