Hanoi (VNA)– Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has signed the first-ever regulationson specific standards and assessment criteria for officials under themanagement of the Party Central Committee, Politburo and Secretariat.
Under Regulation90-QD/TW, Party senior officials must show absolute loyalty to the Party, nationand people, and steadfast trust in the Marxist-Leninist ideology, Ho Chi Minhthoughts and the ideal of national independence and socialism.
The officials arerequired to always put the interests of the Party, the nation and the peoplefirst, and must be willing to sacrifice for the Party’s revolution, thecountry’s independence and freedom as well as people’s happiness.
The officials must setexamples for others in morality, lifestyle and attitude, while resolutely fightingagainst degradation in political ideology as well as signs of self-evolutionand self-transformation.
The regulationsemphasise that the officials must not have greed for power, and must preventtheir relatives or friends from taking advantage of their positions forpersonal interests.
In terms of personalcapacity and prestige, officials holding high positions should have innovativemindset, strategic vision and scientific working methods and politicalsensitivity, along with strong capacity in leading, directing and organisingthe effective implementation of Party and State’s policies and laws. They mustbe dynamic and hardworking, and have high prestige among Party members and thepeople.
Besides general regulations,the Politburo also stipulates detailed standards for specific positions,including Party General Secretary, the President, the Prime Minister, theNational Assembly Chairperson, members of the Party Central Committee,Politburo and Party Central Committee Secretariat, among others.
At the same time, thePolitburo also issued Regulation 89-QD-TW on framework of criteria for personsholding leadership and management positions at all levels as well as theorientations for a framework of assessment criteria for them.-VNA
A meeting to mark the 110th birth anniversary of late Party General Secretary Le Duan was held in Dong Ha city in the central province of Quang Tri on April 7.
