Hanoi (VNA) – State President TranDai Quang visited former Party chief Do Muoi at his home on February 1 on theoccasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet) and the 87th founding anniversary of theCommunist Party of Vietnam (February 3).
Meeting with former Party General Secretary DoMuoi, who turns 100 on February 2, President Tran Dai Quang wished him goodhealth and long-lived, expecting that he would give more valuable suggestionsto build a stronger and more transparent Party and foster the nation’s rapidand sustainable development.
The President also informed the former Partychief about the achievements of the Party, armed forces and people in2016.
He lauded the contributions the former Partyleader made to the revolution of the Party and the nation, particularly in thereform stage.
President Quang affirmed that he will build ontradition to realise socio-economic targets set for 2017 and beyond.-VNA
Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong made visits to several former Party and leaders at their homes on January 25 on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet).
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years.
