State President Luong Cuong and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos on April 25 within the framework of his state visit to Laos.

Vientiane (VNA) –𒅌 State President Luong Cuong and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos on April 25, during which he called on the ambassador and staff to stay united and remain resilient and proactive in all circumstances to effectively fulfil their assigned political missions.
Recognising the efforts of the embassy’s staff, the President emphasised the importance of closely monitoring the host country’s situation, providing timely reports, and offering strategic advice to resolve emerging issues. He urged the embassy to help deepen and enhance the effectiveness of Vietnam–Laos cooperation, particularly in economic matters, in line with the spirit of "helping the friend means helping ourselves."
Besides, he said, the embassy needs to coordinate closely with local authorities on citizen protection, actively implement support measures to help the Vietnamese community stabilise their lives, and pay particular attention to those facing difficulties. He stressed the importance of addressing the legitimate concerns of Vietnamese nationals living, studying, and working in Laos, ensuring they receive the legal and logistical support needed to contribute to the host country’s socio-economic development and to the strengthening of Vietnam–Laos relations.
He encouraged the embassy to expand Vietnamese language classes for overseas Vietnamese, especially among younger generations, helping preserve national identity and strengthen their bond with the homeland.
Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam expressed his gratitude to the Party and State as well as the President for their continued support to Vietnam's representative agencies abroad, including in Laos, thus encouraging them fulfil the tasks entrusted by the Party and State.
Earlier in the day, President Cuong and the Vietnamese delegation visited the President Souphanouvong Memorial House and laid a wreath in tribute to the revolutionary leader.
Cuong expressed his admiration for the life and career of President Souphanouvong, an outstanding son of the Lao people, a close comrade and friend of the Vietnamese people, who made great contributions to building and developing the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.

In the memorial guestbook, the Vietnamese President wrote that each exhibit, photograph, and document on display vividly depicts the revolutionary life of President Souphanouvong, helping visitors better understand the hardships he endured, his revolutionary ideals, and the legacy of this exceptional leader, who left a lasting impression on generations of people in both countries.
Cuong reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with Lao leaders to further nurture the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, a relationship cultivated by generations of leaders from both nations.
Later the same day, President Cuong visited and extended his best wishes to Thongvin Phomvihane, wife of late General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of Laos Kaysone Phomvihane.

President Cuong affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State always consider OVs, including those in Laos, as an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc, an important national resource, and a contributor to the cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and other countries.
Vietnam always appreciates the valuable contributions of the former Lao leaders to the special Vietnam-Laos relationship and hopes that with their prestige and extensive experience, they will continue to support and contribute ideas to further strengthening and deepening the cooperative relationship between the two Parties and countries.
This visit comes at a significant time when both nations are implementing their respective Party resolutions and socio-economic development plans, having obtained numerous noteworthy achievements. Besides, the cooperation between the two countries have developed robustly, with high-level agreements being actively implemented and yielding important results across sectors.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State place great importance on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia in a substantive and effective manner, in line with the development needs of both nations.
At the conference, participants reported that the Government has so far issued 28 decrees on the delegation of responsibilities and powers between the central Government and two-tier local administrations. Several localities have already piloted the new governance model.
Reality is the ultimate benchmark for success, he said, urging drafting agencies to work out policies that foster development, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, and respect practical conditions.
Under the official dispatch signed on June 20, ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, and chairpersons of provincial and municipal People’s Committees are requested to concentrate efforts on implementing core measures to ensure the smooth operations of the new administrative framework.
The Party chief underscored the need for the press to innovate relentlessly, evolve to keep pace with the country's development, transform into a truly professional, humanistic, and modern sector that serves the cause of the Party, the State, and the people on the path to national construction and development.
The UN Secretary-General praised Vietnam’s remarkable achievements in socio-economic development and international integration in recent years, noting that the country has emerged as a model in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting international peace and security, and engaging in key UN processes.
Nghia affirmed that this is a milestone of special significance, affirming and honouring the the Vietnamese revolutionary press’s glorious tradition of 100 years of serving the revolutionary cause of the Party, serving the Fatherland, and serving the people.
The Party and State of Vietnam always attach great importance to and give top priority to the development of Vietnam–China relations.
