Bangkok (NNT/VNA) – The Thai Prime Minister’s IndustryAward 2018 has recognised outstanding small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for their excellentstandards. 

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha has presided over the awards ceremony andsaid the winners serve as examples of dedication, development and creativityfor their peers.

He called on the industrial sector to help boost national development inaccordance with the administration’s Thailand 4.0 development agenda. TheThailand 4.0 policy promotes the use of innovation and technology to advancethe economy. 

This year’s ceremony made 92 awards and distinguished itself from previousoccasions by including a SME category forbusinesses that have developed their potential and elevated theircompetitiveness through various state programmes and initiatives under theMinistry of Industry.

The premier took the opportunity to publicise his administration’s businesspolicies, which advocate connectivity and encourage stakeholders to meetinternational standards.

Under the 20-year national strategy, six plans have been laid out to supportlow-income earners.
