Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand aimsto achieve 10 percent growth in tourism revenue, or 3 trillion BHT (90.5billion USD), through tourism promotion packages to attract domestic andforeign visitors to explore new destinations with longer stays in the country.
The country’s tourism industry has alreadygrown 8 percent this year, earning an estimated 75.43 billion USD, higher thanits average annual growth of 3-5 percent. The government believes that linking various travel agencies will pushgrowth, while also improving tourism quality and tourists’ length of stay.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha urged everyprovince to think of its distinctive features in terms of history, culture andmore to lure tourists and encouraged the provinces to link their destinationswith others in neighbouring countries.
Thailand plans to carry out a tourismcampaign called Amazing Thailand Tourism Year 2018 between November this yearand January 2019, including various international tourism-related events.
