Thailand unveils COVID-19 vaccination plan

Hanoi (VNA)
- Some five million people inThailand will be vaccinated with AstraZeneca at the initial stage monthly andsome 10 million people at subsequent stage monthly, Thai Deputy Prime Ministerand Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said on February 8.

Apart from AstraZeneca, a batch of the Sinovac COVID-19vaccine will be delivered to Thailand between February and April, he said.

The first batch of the Chinese vaccine will bedelivered later this month, followed by another batch next month and the thirdbatch in April.

Anutin said the Sinovac vaccine will not only beprovided for Thais but also for migrant workers, who may be considered as beingat high risk of infection in the country.

On the day, Thailand recorded 186 new coronavirus cases,for an accumulated total of 23,557 since the pandemic began a year ago. No newdeaths were reported, leaving the toll at 79./.
