Vallet scholarships presented to students in central region
As many as 179 scholarships totally worth more than 2 billion VND (about 86,140 USD) have been presented to disadvantaged students in the Central Highlands and the south-central provinces of Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa.

Lam Dong (VNA) – As many as 179 scholarships totally worth more than 2 billion VND (about 86,140 USD) have been presented to disadvantaged students in the Central Highlands and the south-central provinces of Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa.
A ceremony to hand over the scholarships from the Vallet Scholarship Fund was held in Da Lat city of Lam Dong province on September 3.
The fund was established in 2001 by Professor Odon Vallet from France's Sorbonne University through the Meeting Vietnam organisation.
This time, 25 scholarships each worth 18 million VND were given to students of the Universities of Da Lat, Nha Trang and Tay Nguyen and others of Lam Dong province.
Meanwhile, the remaining worth 10.5 million VND each were presented to high school students in the Central Highlands provinces of Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, and Lam Dong, and south-central Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces.
In the past nearly 20 years, Professor Vallet has awarded more than 32,000 scholarships totally worth about 300 billion VND for students and young Vietnamese researchers.
This year, the fund plans to grant 2,250 scholarships to researchers and students with excellent academic performance nationwide.-VNA

More than 500 outstanding students from 58 high schools and six SOS children's villages in the north received Vallet scholarships at a ceremony in Hanoi on August 26.
Odon Vallet scholarships worth nearly 3 billion VND (129,100 USD) were awarded to 276 students in the central provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri at ceremony held in Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province, on August 28.
The organisation “Meet Vietnam” held a ceremony in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on August 30 to present Vallet scholarships worth 2.75 billion VND (119,000 USD) to 213 local outstanding students.
