Venezuela praises President Ho Chi Minh’s legacy on his 135th birthday

Buenos Aires (VNA) – On the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890–2025), Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has expressed his deep gratitude to the great leader of the Vietnamese people while affirming his wish to strengthen comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

On his personal Telegram page, the Venezuelan leader called President Ho Chi Minh the master of masters and a beacon guiding peoples in fighting for self-determination. Maduro affirmed that one of the greatest heroes and leaders of humanity was born 135 years ago, and with courage and iron-like determination, he led the Vietnamese people to overcome all challenges, not submitting to any empire.

The Venezuelan President emphasised that the historical lesson from Vietnam's victories over two superpowers – France and the US – is a strong proof that when a nation unites to fight for freedom, it will certainly succeed.

On the same day, the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued an official statement praising the outstanding legacy of President Ho Chi Minh, emphasising that his indomitable spirit and leadership vision have become a source of inspiration for countries around the world in the struggle for social justice and the right to self-determination.

The history of Vietnam reflects the perseverance and courage of a nation that, under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh, gradually overcame adversities to build the foundation for a prosperous and independent country like it is today, the statement noted.
