Vietnam Fatherland Front President receives Cuban, RoK ambassadors

Hanoi (VNA)🍌 – President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien hosted Cuban Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Choi Youngsam in Hanoi on May 27.
At the reception for the Cuban ambassador, Chien reaffirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always remember the support that Cuba has given to the past struggle for national independence and national construction and development today
He stressed that the VFF values its traditional cooperation with the Committees for the Defence of the Revolution (CDRs) of Cuba and is committed to implementing the 2023–2028 cooperation agreement through exchanges and collaborative activities in various sectors, including education, agriculture, health, and energy.
Emphasising the special relations between Vietnam and Cuba built by President Ho Chi Minh and leader Fidel Castro and fostered by generations of the two countries' leaders and people, Ambassador Polanco Fuentes thanked Vietnam for its affection and help to Cuba. He said he will continue promoting collaboration between the CDRs and VFF, thus contributing to consolidating and tightening special traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting with the RoK ambassador, Chien welcomed the strong growth of Vietnam-RoK relations since the elevation of bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2022. He acknowledged the RoK’s role as Vietnam’s largest investor and one of its top economic, trade, and tourism partners.
The VFF President expressed gratitude to State and people of the RoK, especially their businesses operating in Vietnam, for their support during difficult times in Vietnam, while underlining the importance of people-to-people diplomacy. He expressed his hope that the ambassador would further promote cooperation between the VFF and the RoK’s Economic, Social and Labour Council.
Ambassador Choi affirmed that bilateral ties are at their best and expected further collaboration in areas such as infrastructure, including high-speed rail, and industrial cooperation. He pledged continued support for deepening people-to-people exchanges and institutional cooperation between the two countries./.
