Vietnam, Morocco parliaments’ new deal expected to boost bilateral ties

The newly-signed agreement between the parliaments of Vietnam and Morocco is an important legal foundation for the two sides to boost legislative relations as well as partnership in all fields, stated National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Hanoi(VNA) – The newly-signed agreement between the parliaments of Vietnam andMorocco is an important legal foundation for the two sides to boost legislativerelations as well as partnership in all fields, stated National Assembly (NA)Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Ngan made the remark ata joint press conference with visiting President of Morocco’s House ofRepresentatives Habib El Malki in Hanoi on December 18 following their talks earlierthe same day.

She pledged that theNA of Vietnam will work hard to realise the agreement, while coordinating withthe House of Representatives of Morocco to supervise and speed up the effectiveimplementation of signed agreements between ministries and sectors of bothcountries.

Regarding measures to makebilateral parliamentary cooperation more practical and effective, Habib ElMalki said that with the signing of the new deal, the first one signed betweenVietnam and the parliament of an African country, the ties between the twoparliaments and the two countries will enter a new period.

He noted that theVietnamese top legislator repeatedly affirmed during their talks that Moroccois a priority of Vietnam in Africa, asserting that the deal will contribute to reshufflethe partnership between the two countries in many fields, thus forging strongerties.

Habib El Malki notedthat Vietnam and Morocco share a long-standing friendship and similarities in cultureand history, which is a firm foundation for the two sides to developpartnership. This is also a good chance for the two countries to strengthenties in economy and trade, he said.

Answering reporters’question on the outcomes of their talks, Ngan said that the two sides reviewedbilateral political, economic and trade cooperation as well as collaborationbetween the two parliaments. They shared the hope to further bolsteraffiliation in all fields in the future, she stated.

The parliaments ofVietnam and Morocco will also continue with their political consultationmechanism, Ngan declared.-VNA
