Hanoi (VNA) ꧋– The Prime Minister recently issued Decision No.793/QD-TTg, selecting July 30 as Vietnam’s Anti-Human Trafficking Day.

The Ministry of Public Security and the Government's Anti-Crime Steering Committee will work with relevant agencies and provincial authorities to organise the Day, which is aimed at strengthening human trafficking prevention and involving all of society in the efforts.
The Ministry of Public Security is responsible for guiding the Decision.
The document also indicated that the day will be funded by the State’s budget and other sources.

Vietnam considers human trafficking a dangerous crime that seriously infringes upon human rights and badly affects development.

The country has adopted a number of policies and measures to fight human trafficking.

In 2004, the Vietnamese Government implemented an action plan on preventing and combating the trafficking of women and children with a view to improving public awareness and action.

Vietnam is cooperating with international organisations and joining regional and international forums to share experience, information and increase coordination in the fight against human trafficking.

💃 According to Ministry of Public Security statistics, from 2005 to 2012, Vietnam recorded over 2,500 cases of human trafficking involving more than 5,700 victims.-VNA
