Vietnam Poetry Day 2017 marked in many localities

Many localities nationwide have held a wide range of activities in response to the 15th Vietnam Poetry Day 2017, which opened at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi on February 11 or the fifteenth day of the first lunar month.

Hanoi (VNA) – Many localities nationwide have held a wide range of activities inresponse to the 15th Vietnam Poetry Day 2017, which opened at the Temple ofLiterature in Hanoi on February 11 or the fifteenth day of the first lunarmonth.

In HCM City, onFebruary 11 night, the day was marked with many exciting activities like a playgroundfor young poets, reading poems, drawing portraits of poets.

The Mekong Delta city of Can Tho also held a poetry night at the Binh Thuycommunal house in celebration of the Vietnam Poetry Day.

Themed “Homelandand Spring”, the event brought together nearly 70 poets, poet readers, andartists.

The Can ThoNguyen Tieu poetry night also saw the first-ever space for child poets, helpingyoung poets to exchange ideas with veteran ones.

꧃ The same day, thecentral province of Phu Yen also organised a poetry festival which attracted380 poems from 184 poets in and outside the locality.-VNA

🐈 Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
