Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam will compete in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U22 Championship 2019 to beheld in Cambodia from February 17 to March 2, the Vietnam Football Federation(VFF) has announced.
The team will be in Group A with Thailand, TimorLeste, Laos, Brunei and the Philippines. Group B consists of Malaysia,Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia and Singapore.
According to the VFF, Vietnam’s team willinclude many players who played in the FIFA U20 World Cup last year such asmidfielder Nguyen Quang Hai, defender Doan Van Hau and striker Ha Duc Chinh.
Hai, who plays his club football for champions HanoiFC and is a key member of the U23 and Olympic squads, was named Young Player ofthe Season of the national premier league.
Vietnam will meet Timor Leste in the openingmatch on February 17.
