Vietnam wishes to strengthen friendship with Kyrgyzstan: Deputy FM

Hanoi (VNA) –ﷺ Vietnam cherishes and wishes to strengthen its friendship with traditional partners, including Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed during phone talks with her Kyrgyz counterpart Abakirov Meder on February 17.
The Vietnamese official described the recent progress in the countries' relations as an important prerequisite for deepening their cooperation across all fields.
Applauding the strides in bilateral ties, Meder signalled his readiness to work closely with Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) to explore ways to further enhance the traditional friendship and multifaceted collaboration between the two nations.
In this spirit, Hang proposed that both ministries promote exchanges of delegations at all levels and ensure thorough preparations for mutual visits to boost political trust and create momentum for joint work in areas where Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan have strengths and potential.
The Kyrgyz Deputy FM fully supported this proposal and pledged to work closely with the MoFA and relevant authorities to prepare for the upcoming bilateral exchanges.
Highlighting the significance of economic and trade partnerships within the broader scope of bilateral ties, the two officials agreed to accelerate the effective implementation of the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), of which Kyrgyzstan is a member.
They said it is also necessary to collaborate to assist Vietnamese and Kyrgyz ministries, localities, and businesses in establishing direct connections and in addressing issues such as the negotiation and signing of agreements that would create a favourable legal framework for mutually beneficial cooperation in specific fields.
Hang extended an invitation to Meder to visit Vietnam for political consultations, direct discussions on the two countries' relations and their foreign ministries' cooperation, and preparations for upcoming high-level mutual visits. The free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU) has contributed to trade between the Southeast Asian nation and EAEU member countries, heard a meeting in Moscow on October 13.
