Vietnamese ambassador visits Ukraine’s conflict area
Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Anh Tuan has joined a United Nations mission to visit the Donbass armed conflict region in the east of the country as well as a government-controlled area near the border of State forces and separatists.

Moscow (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to UkraineNguyen Anh Tuan has joined a United Nations mission to visit the Donbass armedconflict region in the east of the country as well as a government-controlledarea near the border of State forces and separatists.
The mission visited a number of UN-funded public establishmentsin Donbass, including schools, hospitals, houses, and water and power supplyfacilities, as well as community support and bomb and mine clearance projectsin the area.
During the visit, lasting from November 5-7, they alsovisited the Maiorske checkpoint in Donetsk.
At a meeting with Donetsk Governor Pavlo Kirilenko and leadersof the province, Anh said that Vietnam, experiencing 30 years of war, clearlyunderstands the value of peace and cost of war.
Vietnam always keeps a close eye on the Ukraine situationand upholds the stance that all issues must be solved through peaceful measuresin respect for the UN Charter as well as the basic principles of internationallaw in order to stablise the situation for the sake of peace and stability inthe region and the world, stressed the diplomat./.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Anh Tuan and Youth and Sports Minister of Ukraine Igor Zhdanov signed an agreement on sports cooperation in Kiev on January 16.
The “Vietnam Day” programme was recently held in Lviv city, the centre of culture and history in western Ukraine, as part of activities of the Vietnamese Cultural Year in Ukraine.
