Vietnamese Party leader honoured with Kazakhstan’s noble friendship order

Astana (VNA) – General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam was honoured with Kazakhstan’s Order of Dostyk (Friendship) of the First Class at a ceremony held at the Akorda Presidential Palace on May 6 (local time) as part of his ongoing state visit to the Central Asian country.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev presented the Order of Dostyk of the First Class, the noble award of the Kazakh State and people, to the Vietnamese leader.

He stressed that the Vietnam – Kazakhstan friendship has been cultivated over decades, built on the foundation of mutual respect and understanding. This relationship has been nurtured by generations of leaders and people from both countries with shared aspirations for freedom, independence, and a bright future.
The noble order is a source of great encouragement for both sides to carry forward the legacy of past generations and to nurture the time-honored friendship into the future, he underscored.
The Party chief concluded by expressing gratitude to President Tokayev, the Kazakh State and people for their consistent support and solidarity with Vietnam in preserving and nurturing the enduring cooperative relationship between the two nations./.

Party General Secretary To Lam left Hanoi on May 5 for state visits to Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, an official visit to Russia where he will attend the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Great Patriotic War, and then a state visit to Belarus from May 5 to 12. Kazakhstan will be the first stop for General Secretary To Lam in this European tour. The visit comes at a time when the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan are progressing positively. It aims to further strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries across various fields.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State place great importance on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia in a substantive and effective manner, in line with the development needs of both nations.
At the conference, participants reported that the Government has so far issued 28 decrees on the delegation of responsibilities and powers between the central Government and two-tier local administrations. Several localities have already piloted the new governance model.
