Vietnamese students earn big at Invention Creativity Olympic 2018
Vietnamese students enjoyed a successful World Invention Creativity Olympic (WICO) 2018, with three teams bringing home gold medals and one team bagging a silver medal.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese students enjoyed a successful WorldInvention Creativity Olympic (WICO) 2018, with three teams bringing home goldmedals and one team bagging a silver medal.
The Vietnamese teams, comprising of 16 high school students competing infour different categories, introduced highly-applicable initiatives, focusingon science and environmental protection.
This is the first time after seven years of participating in thecompetition the Vietnamese delegation, together with Indonesia, won the SemiGrand Award. This is also the first time that Vietnam has brought home the BestLeading Innovation Award.
The annual competition was organised by the Korea University InventionAssociation and supported by the Republic of Korea’s parliament.
The jury of the competition included international experts with criteriadefined by leading scientists.
This year, the WICO was held from August 1-5, drawing 228 teams and1,100 students from 30 countries and territories.-VNA
All four members of the Vietnamese team attending the 2018 International Biology Olympiad recently held in Iran won medals, with three gold and one silver, according to the Ministry of Education and Training.
