Vietnam’s Embassy in Algeria marks late President’s 128th birthday
The Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria held a ceremony in Algiers on May 17 to pay tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of his 128th birthday (May 19, 1890-2018).

Algiers (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria held a ceremony inAlgiers on May 17 to pay tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh on the occasionof his 128th birthday (May 19, 1890-2018).
Ambassador Pham Quoc Tru said that the annual event aims tocommemorate and show profound gratitude for the late President, who sacrificedhis life for the struggle for national liberation and for peace and happinessof Vietnamese people.
He called on the staff of the embassy and agencies and theentire Vietnamese community in Algeria to tighten solidarity to overcomedifficulties and challenges to fulfil assigned tasks.
On this occasion, the embassy’s Party cell also held ameeting to encourage embassy personnel to learn and follow President Ho ChiMinh’s thoughts, morality and lifestyle.
President Ho Chi Minh led the nation to success in thestruggle for national independence and in establishing the Democratic Republicof Vietnam following the August Revolution in 1945. He passed away in 1969.-VNA

The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
