Yen Bai, Vientiane provinces mark 10 years of cooperation, friendship
A ceremony was recently held in the northern province of Yen Bai to celebrate the 10 years of the cooperative relationship between the Vietnamese locality and Vientiane province of Laos.

Yen Bai (VNA) – A ceremony wasrecently held in the northern province of Yen Bai to celebrate the 10 years ofthe cooperative relationship between the Vietnamese locality and Vientianeprovince of Laos.
Addressing the event on September 29, Pham Thi ThanhTra, Secretary of the Yen Bai Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam andChairwoman of the provincial People’s Council, said Vientiane and Yen Bai haveexerted tireless efforts to overcome challenges to bring bilateral cooperationand friendship to a new height.
She voiced her belief that the two provinces’friendship will continue to bear fruit and that their people will write new andbrighter chapters in the history of cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, aswell as between Yen Bai and Vientiane.
For his part, Governor of Vientiane provinceVidong Sayasone, also Secretary of the provincial Committee of the Lao People’sRevolutionary Party, praised the outcomes of the two sides’ collaboration,describing the 10th anniversary as a landmark of their ties that are importantto enhancing the amity, solidarity and all-round cooperation between theprovinces.
Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trunglauded the activeness and resolve of the provinces’ leaders in strengtheningYen Bai – Vientiane relations.
He said the provinces’ cooperation is ahighlight of the closely-knitted friendship between Vietnamese and Laolocalities. He said he believes this relationship will develop to a new leveland contribute to the countries’ connections.

A high-raking delegation from the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) led by Sen. Lieut. Gen Luong Cuong, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Director of the VPA’s General Department of Politics is paying official visits to Laos and Cambodia from September 18-22.
Several Lao leaders have hailed the cooperation between the armies of Laos and Vietnam during their meetings on Sept. 18 in Vientiane with a high-ranking delegation from the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) led by Director of the VPA’s General Department of Politics Sen. Lieut. Gen Luong Cuong.
A short-term course providing lessons on Vietnamese language for staff of the General Department of Politics under the Public Security Ministry of Laos opened in Vientiane on September 20.
General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong on September 26 hosted Lao Vice President Phankham Viphavanh, who is in Hanoi leading a high-ranking delegation to the funeral for President Tran Dai Quang.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years. The UN Secretary-General praised Vietnam’s remarkable achievements in socio-economic development and international integration in recent years, noting that the country has emerged as a model in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting international peace and security, and engaging in key UN processes.

The show, together with a grand parade to be held silmutaneously at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, the National Day, and the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).
In particular, in April 2023, the two sides successfully carried out a joint operation that dismantled a major organised, transnational drug trafficking ring involving both Vietnamese and Cambodian suspects.
