One such beneficiary is A Mah, a resident of Khanh Khoa ccommune in Chau Phu district, who moved into his new home just before the traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday. The 56-square-meter house was constructed with a concrete floor and corrugated metal roof at a cost of over 90 million VND (3,500 USD), funded through the province’s Great Solidarity House programme. For A Mah and his family, it marks the end of nearly 40 years of unstable housing. “I’m overjoyed and deeply grateful for the support from the Government and the Islamic community in An Giang province,” A Mah said, adding that “With this new home, my family can finally settle down and work toward a better future.”
In early 2025, two other families in Cham village of Khanh Hoa commune also received great solidarity houses. The homes were made possible by donations mobilised by local authorities and the representative board of the Islamic community in An Giang province.
