Cambodia has issued an emergency use authorisation (EUA) for the Russian-made Sputnik V vaccine against COVID-19.

Phnom Penh (VNA) - Cambodia hasissued an emergency use authorisation (EUA) for the Russian-made Sputnik V vaccineagainst COVID-19.

Also on October 29, the CambodianMinistry of Health granted the EUAs to four other Russian COVID-19 vaccines,including CoviVac of the Chumakov Centre, Sputnik-Light of the GamaleyaInstitute, EpiVacCorona of the ScientificResearch Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB SRC Vector), and EpiVacCorona ofthe State Research Centre of Virology and Biotechnology.

In February, the countryissued the EUA for the Chinese-manufactured Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines, andthe AstraZeneca developed by the University of Oxford.

As of October 29, 85.64 percentof Cambodia’s total population of 16 million had been vaccinated againstCOVID-19./.
