Cambodia buys 5 million doses of vaccine for children aged 12-17
The Cambodian government has purchased an additional five million doses of Sinovac vaccine to vaccinate children aged 12-17 as the COVID-19 pandemic poses an enormous threat to the group, Khmer Times reported.

Phnom Penh (VNA) – The Cambodian government has purchased an additional five million doses of Sinovac vaccine to vaccinate children aged 12-17 as the COVID-19 pandemic poses an enormous threat to the group, the Khmer Times reported.
Priority will be given to children in Phnom Penh and Kandal province.
According to the Ministry of Health's secretary of state Youk Sambath, the government is now entering its next phase of vaccinating Cambodian children.
It is expected that the first batch of three million doses of Sinovac will arrive next month and another two million doses in September, she said.
Sambath said Cambodia will get all the planned 20 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines for the 10 million people, or 62 percent of the total population, by the end of this month.
As of July 23, Cambodia had recorded a total of 71,244 COVID-19 cases, with 63,474 recoveries and 1,222 fatalities.
In Malaysia, the Ministry of Health, on July 23, announced that the country continued to see a record number of new COVID-19 cases with 15,573 cases detected in the past 24 hours. Thus, up to now, Malaysia has recorded a total of 980,941 cases of COVID-19, including 7,718 deaths.
Indonesia’s Ministry of Health said that an additional 1,566 deaths from COVID-19 were reported in 24 hours, a record high since the pandemic broke out in early March 2020. The old record level of 1,449 cases was recorded on July 22.
As many as 49,071 new cases were also detected in the country on July 23.
ℱ Indonesia has so far recorded a total of 3,082,410 cases, including 2,431,911 recoveries and 80,598 deaths, while nearly 560,000 patients are still being treated in hospitals or self-quarantine at home./.
Thailand on July 19 recorded 11,784 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. This is the fourth day in a row the Southeast Asian country has logged the highest number of new cases since the pandemic broke out.
While Thailand is setting up checkpoints to restrict mobility in 13 provinces in a bid to prevent COVID-19 from spreading from the dark-red zone, the pandemic situation has also yet to ease in other Southeast Asian countries.
