Chinese veterans, martyrs’ relatives visit Vietnam

Hanoi (VNA) - Lieut.Gen. Le Hien Van, deputy chief of the General Department of Politics of theVietnam People’s Army (VPA), hosted a reception in Hanoi on April 22 for adelegation of Chinese war veterans and relatives of fallen soldiers who hadassisted Vietnam during its resistance war against the US.

Welcoming the Chinese guests, Vansaid during its past struggle for national independence and liberation, Vietnamreceived great, wholehearted and effective assistance from internationalfriends, especially the spiritual and financial support from China andsocialist countries, which contributed to the nation’s overall victory in the resistancewar against the US.

The Vietnamese Party, State,people, and army always appreciate the valuable and effective assistance from internationalfriends, particularly the help from the Chinese Party, State and people, hesaid.

Representatives of the delegationrecalled their time in Vietnam when they stood side by side with the people andarmy of Vietnam to overcome many difficulties and hardships and witnessed withtheir glorious feats of arms.

They took this occasion to wishthe Vietnamese people and army, under the leadership of the Communist Party ofVietnam, will continue achieving further successes in their nationalconstruction and protection cause.-VNA
