Hanoi (VNA) – Minister of Defence General Phung Quang Thanh received in Hanoi on December 14 a delegation of Chinese soldiers and military experts who helped Vietnam during the country’s struggle for national independence.
During the reception, the Minister underscored China’s assistance to Vietnam during the resistance war for national independence and the cause of building socialism in the North.
He briefed the guest on Vietnam’s political situation and social-economic development.
He said Vietnam will always be a friend and a trusted partner to all countries and proactively integrate into the international community, develop friendly ties with all countries in the world, including China.
The Minister affirmed the Party, State, army and people of Vietnam will make every effort to preserve and develop the long-standing traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.
The remaining problems between the two countries will get solved through peaceful negotiations, in line with international law, he said.
Huang Boqiu, head of the Chinese veteran delegation, expressed his pleasure to visit Vietnam on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day and the 65th anniversary of the Vietnam – China diplomatic relations.
