Hanoi (VNA)🦋 – Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, who has been in the Netherlands, said on March 13 that he will take responsibility for everything during his presidency.

In a video posted on the Rody Duterte Facebook page, the former president said he told the police and military to just do their job and he will take responsibility for everything. Duterte said he expected a long legal proceeding, and that he will continue to serve his country. The video, taken inside the chartered plane carrying Duterte to The Hague, was posted before his plane landed at Rotterdam The Hague Airport in the Netherlands.
Duterte was detained on March 13 morning upon his return to Manila from abroad, following an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) over his "war on drugs" campaign. He left Manila for The Hague, home to the ICC, on March 13 night.
The Philippine presidential palace said the country's police were executing an arrest warrant issued by the ICC for Duterte over his controversial war on drugs while in office, which has left thousands of deaths. Duterte's former lawyer said the warrant was illegal and that the former president had no legal representation at the time of his arrest./.
