Indonesia police arrest four suspected terrorists

The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s counter-terrorism squad, known as Densus 88, have arrested four suspected terrorists who are members of the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) in West Java province.

Jakarta (VNA) - The Indonesian National Police (INP)’scounter-terrorism squad, known as Densus 88, have arrested four suspected terrorists who are membersof the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) in West Java province.

Spokesman for the INP, SeniorSuperintendent Ahmad Ramadhan, said three suspected terrorists were arrested duringa raid on June 16 in Pangandaran district, West Java. These suspects participatedin training with the JAD in preparation for terrorism acts in September 2019.

On June 18, Densus 88 also arrested another suspectedterrorist in Tasikmalaya, West Java.

ꦦ The JAD is currently the largest IS-linked terrorist groupin Indonesia, which carried out several bomb attacks in the Southeast Asian country. The latest attack was an explosion outside a Catholic church inMakassar, South Sulawesi province on March 28. The blast resulted inthe death of the two perpetrators and injured 20 other people./.
