Vientiane (VNA)🧸 – The 10th national congress of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) concluded on June 9 after two days of sitting.
During the congress, participants examined and adopted a political report and set future development orientations under the spirit of the Resolution of the 10 th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and the country’s socio-economic plan for 2016-2020.
The congress also approved a report on the leadership of the 9 th LFNC Central Committee and the revised charter of the front, along with many other important issues.
Participants re-elected Saysomphone Phomvihane as Chairman of the 10 th LFNC Central Committee. They also elected six others as vice chairpersons and a 10 member standing committee.
They adopted the LFNC Central Committee’s target to 2030 and a strategic plan for 2016-2025, which will focus on developing education, promoting the great national unity and emulation movements, building political organisations, reinforcing the operational structure and working method of the Front’s agencies at all levels, and fostering people-to-people diplomacy.
At the closing session, participants committed to tightening unity among Lao ethnic groups under the leadership of the LPRP and State.-VNA
