Party chief receives Chinese leader’s special envoy

Hanoi (VNA) – General Secretary of theCommunist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong hosted a reception in Hanoion November 1 for Song Tao, special envoy of General Secretary of the CommunistParty of China (CPC) Xi Jinping.

General Secretary Trong congratulated the success ofthe 19th CPC National Congress and highly evaluated the achievementsthe Party, State and people of China have reaped during the cause of building socialismwith Chinese characteristics.

The Party chief voiced belief that under theleadership of the CPC Central Committee led by General Secretary Xi Jinping, theChinese people would certainly complete the targets set at the 19th CPC National Congress.

Vietnam always attaches importance to its relationswith China and sincerely wants to develop the traditional friendship andcomprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with the country for mutualbenefits, he said.

General Secretary Trong suggested the two sides worktogether closely to implement common perceptions reached by senior leaders ofthe two Parties and countries, and their signed agreements.

He also stressed that Vietnam treasures the upcomingState-level visit to Vietnam by Party General Secretary and President XiJinping as well as his attendance at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.

Song Tao, who is also a member of the CPC Central Committeeand head of the CPC Central Committee’s International Liaison Department, said theChinese Party, Government and people always want and stand ready to join hands withtheir Vietnamese counterparts to continuously elevate the traditionalfriendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a new height.

He briefed the Vietnamese Party leader on theoutcomes of the freshly-ended 19th CPC National Congress as well asChina’s major development policies and orientations towards socialistmodernisation.

The Party, State and people of China and GeneralSecretary Xi Jinping attach great importance to developing the friendship andcooperation with Vietnam, and wish that the two sides will increase strategicexchange, mutual political trust and practical cooperation in different fields,thus bringing the bilateral relationship into a new period of stabledevelopment.

Later the same day, Tran Quoc Vuong, Politburo member,permanent member of the CPV Central Committee’s Secretariat and head of the CPVCentral Committee’s Inspection Commission, received Song Tao.

The Chinese official proposed measures to promotethe relationship between the two Parties and countries by increasing theexchange of delegations at all levels and upholding the achievements of their existingcooperation mechanisms.

He expressed his hope that the two sides willenhance mutual political trust, and theoretical, strategic and friendlyexchanges, in an effort to lift relations between the two Parties and nationsto a new level.

For his part, Vuong congratulated the CPC on thesuccessful organisation of its 19th National Congress and expressedhis wish that the CPC will lead the Chinese people to reap more achievements inthe new period.

He called on the two sides to make concerted effortsto effectively implement common perceptions and agreements reached by the twocountries, and strengthen relations between the two Parties and countries in astable manner.

Also on November 1, Song Tao held talks with HoangBinh Quan, member of the CPV Central Committee and head of the CPV CentralCommittee’s Commission for External Relations.

The two sides had an in-depth discussion on theimplementation of cooperation agreements between high-ranking leaders of thetwo Parties and the enhancement of cooperation between the two Parties andcountries in a healthy, stable and sustainable way in the time ahead, includingthe implementation of a cooperation plan between the two Parties in 2017.

They agreed to increase high-level exchanges,continue sharing experiences and theories between the two Parties and boost exchangesbetween Party agencies, cooperation in training officials as well as exchangesbetween people, agencies and localities of Vietnam and China.-VNA
