The US has opened a 2-million-USD tender to help clear unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Cambodia.

Washington DC (VNA) – The US has opened a 2-million-USD tender tohelp clear unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Cambodia.

The move was made several weeks after Cambodia said the US funding activitiesfor clearing war-left bombs stopped.

The US Embassy in Cambodia announced in a statement that applications are nowbeing accepted for a 2 million USD, one-year grant to survey and clear UXO ineastern Cambodia.

US Ambassador to Cambodia William Heidt said that the US has supportedhumanitarian demining in Cambodia for over 20 years and is committed toaddressing war-time legacy.

The country is searching for best national and international experts to helpremove UXO, he added.-VNA
