Vietnam honoured as Asia’s heritage, cultural, culinary destination at WTA 2020
Vietnam has been named as Leading Heritage Destination, Leading Cultural Destination, and Leading Culinary Destination of Asia at the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA) 2020.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam has been named as Leading HeritageDestination, Leading Cultural Destination, and Leading Culinary Destination ofAsia at the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA) 2020.
This is also the second consecutive year Vietnam has beenhonoured at the three categories, showing that culture, heritage and cuisine areprominent factors bringing about international titles for the Vietnamese tourism.
The WTA was launched in 1993 to acknowledge excellence inthe travel and tourism industry. Heralded as the “travel industry’s equivalentof the Oscars” by the Wall Street Journal, the awards are based on votes fromthe public and travel professionals across the globe.
The 26th World Travel Awards for Asia and Oceania selectedVietnam as Asia’s Leading Culinary Destination at a ceremony in October 2019 inthe Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang.
Vietnam was also named Asia’s Leading Destination and Asia’sLeading Cultural Destination, while Hoi An won the title of Asia’s LeadingCultural City Destination.
The country was then honoured as a World Leading HeritageDestination 2019 by the WTA at an awards ceremony in November in Oman./.

The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.

Vietnamese Consul General in Fukuoka Vu Chi Mai highlighted the growing demand for Vietnamese workers in Kyushu, especially in Fukuoka, Oita, and Saga prefectures. Currently, the region employs about 35,000 Vietnamese manual workers and over 5,000 IT engineers.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach.
