Vietnam’s representative shines at int’l tourism pageant

Vietnam’s representative at the World Miss Tourism Ambassador 2018, Phan Thi Mo, has triumphed over 50 other contestants from around the world to win the Best Designer Bikini in the Preliminary Bikini Competition at the beauty pageant.

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Vietnam’srepresentative at the World Miss Tourism Ambassador 2018, Phan Thi Mo, has triumphedover 50 other contestants from around the world to win the Best Designer Bikiniin the Preliminary Bikini Competition at the beauty pageant.

The competition was celebrated on July 29 inHoi An town, the central province of Quang Nam. The contestants had to competeon a Victoria’s secret-inspired runway that was set above a swimming pool. Theyparaded their bikini bodies in two segments - creative designer swimsuits andin their bikini of choice.

Miss Haiti, Cassandre Joseph, placed firstrunner-up while Miss Kiev Ukraine, Havrylenko Olena, took the second-runner-uphonours.

Before that, Miss Philippines Jyssy JynAlmario won first place in the ao dai (Vietnam’s traditional long dress)competition while Miss Vietnam was in the top five.

On July 30, the contestants continued toparticipate in sideline activities such as talent competitions, charity workand exploring Quang Nam province and Da Nang city before moving to Thailand onAugust 1.

The next activities at the pageant,including traditional costumes, ball gowns and the crowning ceremony, will takeplace in Bangkok, Thailand from July 31 to August 8.

World Miss Tourism Ambassador is not only abeauty pageant but also a tourism forum and cultural exchange event. Throughthe pageant’s activities, the contestants will promote and inspire audiencesabout tourism in their own nations and the host country.-VNS/VNA
