VN, Cambodia enhance coordination in ensuring border security
The Vietnam Border Guard High Command and Cambodia’s General Department of Immigration held talks in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on July 11 to review their coordination in ensuring border security and set tasks for the coming time.

The Vietnamese side was led by Lieut. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien, member of theParty Central Committee and Commander of the Border Guard, while the Cambodianside was headed by General Sok Phal, Director-General of the General Departmentof Immigration.
The two sides agreed to continue coordination under their reached agreement andincrease exchange of information related to national security, social order andsafety, immigration and border crimes.
They will join hands to manage border gates and simplify administrativeprocedures to facilitate border trade and people’s travelling.
They will also focus on preventing specially dangerous crimes such as terrorismand weapon and explosive trafficking.
Since their talks in June last year, the two sides have coordinated in dealingwith incidents occurring in border areas, contributing to maintainingstability, security and order along the shared border line.-VNA
The Presidents of the front organisations of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam signed a tri-lateral cooperation programme for the period 2017-2020 at their third conference held in Hanoi on June 25.
