VN’s embassies hold tribute-paying ceremonies for President
The Vietnamese Embassies in Germany, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Turkey on September 26 held ceremonies and opened condolence books in tribute to President Tran Dai Quang.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassies in Germany, the CzechRepublic, the Netherlands and Turkey on September 26 held ceremonies and openedcondolence books in tribute to President Tran Dai Quang.
A large number of staff members from Vietnamese representative agencies,enterprises and overseas Vietnamese in Germany came to pay their last respectsto the Vietnamese President. They offered incense and held a minute’s silenceto remember the beloved leader.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy’s staff, Ambassador Doan Xuan Hunghighlighted contributions of President Quang, who devoted his whole life to thenation’s revolutionary cause and was honoured with noble orders.
A similar ceremony was organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in the CzechRepublic on the same day, which drew the participation of the Ambassadors anddiplomats of ASEAN member states, Japan, Belarus, Egypt and Chile, and ViceChairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech RepublicVojtech Filip.
In the eulogy read at the ceremony, Ambassador Ho Minh Tuan stressed thatPresident Tran Dai Quang had excellent contributions to the Party’s revolutionarycause, and his passing was a great loss to the Party, State and people, leavingdeep sorrow to both Vietnamese people and international friends.
Writing in the condolence book, Vojtech Filip expressed his deep condolences tothe Vietnamese people, and the family of President Tran Dai Quang.
Memorial ceremonies for President Tran Dai Quang were also held at theVietnamese Embassies in the Netherlands and Turkey, which drew large numbers ofinternational diplomats who came to offer their condolences.
President Tran Dai Quang passed away at 10:05am on September 21 in Hanoi at theage of 62 due to serious illness.
The State funeral for the President began at 7am on September 26 at theNational Funeral Hall, No.5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi.
The memorial service will be held at 7:30am on September 27 at the NationalFuneral Hall, the Thong Nhat Hall in Ho Chi Minh City and the President’snative land.
The burial ceremony will take place from 3:30pm on the same day in thePresident's native land in Quang Thien commune, Kim Son district, Ninh Binh province.
The nation is observing a two-day national mourning on September 26 and 27.-VNA
